Walked in no ac. Very hot inside. Was not greeted. Not very inviting server. No Dr.pepper and told no place to charge phone. I guess cause its a bad part of town. 2 bad I love trying new mexican food places, but this one was not for me. They may have thought I was homeless because Im out walking today in this nice wheather. Im not and I tip well. I was fully prepared to drop 30 on my lunch. Id say be more inviting when clients enter.
Super friendly staff, willing to help and give recommendations. The food was delicious and a good portion. They have weekly specials, I came on the weekend but I do recommend to check them out. Very nostalgic place to visit. Would recommend and will be returning.
We visited this place a few days ago. The artwork on the exterior & interior are quite fun & whimsical, especially if you grew up watching El Chavo del Ocho 😝 Unfortunately I can’t give it more than one star. That’s because the food was not tasty at all. It was cold. & lacked flavor. I ordered tacos barbacoa and the meat had a sweet flavor, not what I expected from barbacoa. The beans tasted like they probably weren’t rinsed before cooking, and the rice was bland. We asked for horchata that came in a very brown color, again not typical for the horchata I’m familiar with…but I just gave it the benefit of the doubt, and attributed it to the cinnamon. But upon tasting it, it was grainy and gritty, the flavor also seemed to give mazapan hints… I actually did not like the horchata, and at 5$ a cup, it’s definitely not worth it in my opinion. As if that isn’t enough, the staff is not friendly, they more act like you’re a burden and a bother to them… so yea… I won’t go back and I highly DON’T recommend this place…but my kid said the buffalo wings were good 😆
